BODY OF DANCE 3 by Ian de Souza
Body of Dance 3 typifies de Souza's work past and present, where strong brush strokes amplify the gesture of the body. The reduced colour accentuates the rhythmic movement. The characters of the dancers reveal de Souza's underlying classical approach.
As with an ensemble of musicians, the dancers play individual roles, lyrically captured by de Souza to form a composition redolent with percussive elements.
